Come join Zech this summer as a counselor or worker!
Dear Family & Friends,
I guess I did good job interning at Camp Daniel last summer to get invited to do it again. I have been involved with this organization for five years; four years counseling and one year interning. Camp Daniel is an extraordinary organization that offers programs and events for people with disabilities. The camp environment is welcoming and fun, where campers get the opportunity to enjoy socializing and performing different activities that they may not otherwise do anywhere else. The Summer Internship Program focuses on helping individuals to work on teambuilding and leadership skills. Interns are there to help counselors and campers have a safe, organized, and enjoyable week.
Camp Daniel has been an important part of a lot of people’s lives, including mine. The story of how I got involved with camp is very simple. I was lucky enough to get placed with the Bill & Debbie Woods in 2014 through the foster care program. The Woods were already involved with camp, meaning that I had to go. Debbie took the shy and stubborn kid that I was and dragged me to this campground that I had no say and no interest in going to. Now six years later, this same kid is planning on returning for a second summer of interning. Somehow this camp managed to hook me in. I thought there was no way this could happen, but there were people there every week that cared about me and were just plain awesome. Both the campers and counselors helped me realize that this was a place where I could be myself.
Interning requires me to be open to challenges. Through these challenges I will grow as an individual and help others around me to do the same. The first challenge is not directly at the camp, but here at home. Fundraising is not my strong suit, but being involved in Camp Daniel’s Summer Internship Program is a missions trip and just like other missionaries, part of my growing experience is to fundraise. You are receiving this because you, like Camp Daniel, have had an impact on my life in some shape or form. With your support through prayer and encouragement, I will be able to continue doing what I believe God wants me to do. The total cost for the internship is $800, which includes housing, food, training, and transportation. A donation of any size to this internship would be greatly appreciated, but keeping me in your thoughts and prayers is just as important. As mentioned earlier, I am grateful for all the support you give me and I am also pumped for another summer interning at an amazing place!
Thank you in advance!

What is a Summer Intern?
The Intern Program is part of Camp Daniel’s Summer Staff Team. This is an opportunity for participants to build their leadership skills. They also play a fundamental role in the operational workings of the summer sessions. Interns help plan the training sessions for counselors and the activities that campers participate in during a week of camp. During camp, Interns help run these programs and will be overall good role models and leaders that promote unity and spiritual, relational and recreational growth among counselors, campers, workers and staff. This program will be used to equip participants with the skills needed to be effective leaders, with a focus on discovering and implementing their unique strengths as leaders.
